Profile
Kim Yeon Soo aka THE END is a member of the world renowned South Korean B-Boy Crew, “Gambler” that made the finals at the International Battle of the Year for the last three years in a row. He developed power moves onto a complete new level. As a solo dancer he has participated in and won almost every important B-Boy battle within the last two years.
Seeing his older brother break, sowed a seed in Kim’s head that flourished after watching his first videos of B-Boys. It then became clear to him: he would be one of them.
His big inspirations were B-Boys Benny & Tuffkid from Switzerland and B-Boy Ruen from LA. THE END worked very hard to get to the top and with the help of his two crews became one of the outstanding B-Boys of the world. He not only is a member of Gambler, but also of the Kai Crew from his hometown Ulsan. Both crews supported him through many difficult years and now are like family to him. Apart from breaking, Kim is interested in all kinds of sports, especially soccer.
Korea has some of the world’s best B-Boys because they are extremely dedicated. They compete against many other countries in competitions like BOTY and the UK B-Boy Championships and have won those events several times. However, unlike crews from elsewhere, the Korean B-Boys are required to do two years in the army. This is hard for them because during their years of military service they have almost no chance to practice and it’s difficult to get back to the top when they finally leave the army. Therefore the Korean breakers practice extremely hard, because they realize they only have a few years to make it.
When THE END goes into a battle, he doesn’t really plan out any strategies, but focuses on executing his moves perfectly. His style is dominated by unique power moves, both the ones he made up on his own and the ones the Gamblerz created for him. The one handed elbow-track, or flare, is his signature move.
