Nika

Nika Kramer aka Nawtee Neek is text editor and translator of Hip Hop Files: Photographs 1979–1984 (From Here to Fame, 2004) and text editor/author of We B*Girlz (powerHouse Books, 2005) a book about the B-Girl scene.

She is co-producer/director and first camera of the documentary short Redder than Red – The Story of B-Girl Bubbles. Together with Martha Cooper she created We B*Girlz Productionz, (www.bgirlz.com) with the idea to build a network for women in Hip Hop and support and document the scene.

Nika is the organizer of the annual We B-Girlz Festival in Berlin www.b-girlz-berlin.com and the We B*Girlz Battle at the preparty of the Battle of the Year. She writes a blog on redbullbcone.com and nawteeneek.com and is an amibitious wanna-be-photographer.

Nawtee Neek has been working with the Red Bull BC One for 6 years, writing the text for the website, press releases, profiles of the participants and the blog. In 2009 she went on a six months journey throughout Mexico and Central America exploring the local Hip Hop scene.

Nika just founded a non-profit organization called "Urban Cultures For Equality" with the aim to support Hip Hop projects worldwide.
