Marta López Sabán aka MOVIE ONE is a well known B-Girl throughout Europe. Even though she has only been breaking for three years, she has already won several solo and crew competitions. She got her name from her crew. MOVIE meaning “incident” in their street slang.

MOVIE ONE says Hip Hop is her religion. She has been part of Hip Hop culture for nine years as a graffiti writer. She is still active and likes to paint complicated murals. She always liked to watch breaking. She had friends in the B-Boy scene and went to the Battle of the Year with them several times. Three years ago, she started trying breaking herself and really took to it. She loved it from the start.

In the beginning, Marta didn’t think about battles or competitions. She just liked to dance in the streets with her friends, learn new moves and have a good time. Two years ago, she met Martha Cooper and Nika Kramer at the train station in Barcelona, where she was practicing with her friends. That’s how she got into the We B*Girlz book.

MOVIE ONE was inspired by many people but B-Boy Rudy from her crew Lunaticks is the one who inspired her most. She likes the way he dances, he taught her a lot and keeps motivating her. He is her strategic teacher. She was also inspired by B-Boy Abstrak of Skill Methodz and by B-Boy Focus of the Finnish crew Flow Mo. Her all time favorite B-Boy is ROXRITE of Renegades.

For MOVIE ONE there are no differences between B-Boys and B-Girls. She believes B-Girls can be just as good. She respects different styles in B-Girling, and thinks dancing with a feminine touch is ok, but she especially admires girls like Beta who are just as tough as the guys and don’t use their female weapons. Beta is an important member of her crew and not just “the girl” of the crew. She is on the same level as the boys.

MOVIE ONE feels welcome in her crew Lunaticks. They accept and appreciate her not because she is “dancing well for a girl”, but because of her skills as a breaker. That makes her feel self-assured when she battles with her crew. Her family is very proud of her and comes to watch her whenever they can. MOVIE ONE studied art and education and now teaches dance. She manages to make a living from dance, though not very well she says, but she survives.

MOVIE ONE was thrilled to win a ticket to the RED BULL BC One in Sao Paulo at the first We B*Girlz battle at the International Battle of the Year in Germany in 2006.
