1,300 spectators, 37° Celsius, 1 ticket to South Africa!

On the eve of May 26th, 1,300 paying spectators had joined at boiling Taipei Cinema Park to witness the epic event of their life. Being the 1st ever Qualifier in Red Bull BC One history, the event itself had already seen it all, even before the opening of the competition. The tragic accident to one of representing B-Boys two days before the event (Zen from Malaysia, who is on the mend!), as well as the absence of a competing B-Boy the morning of the event (Rekin from Philippine). But all these were small potatoes, in contrast to the weather—37° Celsius!

The event went booming from the start. DJ Mar kicked off the show with crazy music, so crazy that everyone thought Rocky Balboa was entering the ring. VJ George also made sure the show was hot and furious, providing the best possible feel for the crowd. Most importantly, B-Boy Machine, Takeo, and Hiro made sure that all the B-Boys were in check, to ensure that the best B-Boy would win and be the one to compete in South Africa.

To cool down the heat of battle, we invited the 3 legendary judges to battle against a Red Bull BC One All Star team consisting of Hong 10 from Korea (winner Red Bull BC One 2006), The End from Korea, and Dragon from Taiwan. This was a great show and induced many "wows" and "yeahs" from the audience. The two popping shows by the crews "The Soul" and "Let's Boogie" also amazed the crowd.

In the end it was B-Boy Drunk from Hong Kong, battling against Taiwan's favorite son, B-Boy Choco. Though Choco caught everyone's attention with his magical touch every step of the way, exhaust caught up with him, as Drunk took the opportunity to seize the final battle. Now Drunk will have another chance to make the audience drunk again, this time in South Africa!
