In the Red Bull BC One Qualifier Turkey B-Boys from Europe and Asia came together to battle it out. The jury consisted of notorious B-Boy Roxrite (USA), Born (South Korea) and Tuff Kid (Switzerland).

The Portuguese wins the Red Bull BC One Spain Qualifier 2011 and is the first winner of a Qualifier to secure his spot at the World Final in Russia, in November!

Teatre Grec, in Barcelona, was host to 1,400 B-Boys, B-Girls and fans, who came to witnessed the victory of the Portuguese Lagaet. On his way to the final, Lagaet had to battle one-on-one against EzMike, Niggaz, Khalil and Menno, who is also known from passed red Bull BC One World Finals and was Lagaets opponent in the final round.

The winner said just after the competition that he was surprised as he wasn’t sure if he was going to participate until a few days ago, since he just recently went through suregery on his knee. " My doctor advised me not to participate in the event, but I did not want to mis the oportunity of taking part in this most important B-Boying competition. After all I really thought I can stand the chance of winning. It was a fierce competition, and I'm proud to have made it even though the level of my opponents was very high!"

In their decision, the jury, formed by Extremo (Zaragoza), Ronnie (USA) and Vartan (Germany), considered the B-Boys originality, fluency, innovation, style, rhythm and the use of space and tempos.

Three more days till the first Qualifier of the Red Bull BC One 2011! 5 Cypher winners and 11 invited B-Boys will battle for 1 spot in the finals in November in Moscow! Who’s it gonna be?

For all of you who can’t make it to Barcelona for the event this weekend, we got some really dope news! We’ll bring the Red Bull BC One Qualifier straight into your homes! There will be a live stream right on this website for you guys. The host will mostly talk in Spanish, but will make the introductions in English for all of you guys.

One Step further on the Road to Red Bull BC One 2011!

After 28 Cypher Battles in 21 countries worldwide, we are now getting into the next exiting phase of the Red Bull BC One 2011—the Qualifier season is starting! And now – it’s REALLY on!!!

In July, the winners of the Cypher Battles will journey to the 5 Qualifiers around the globe, where they will meet with further opponents selected by an international jury.

Each of the Qualifiers will be held in an iconic location in 5 of the greatest cities of the world. Starting with Barcelona, Spain, on July 3rd, there will also be Qualifiers in Istanbul, Turkey, on July 9th, in Chicago, USA, on July 23rd and in Salvador de Bahia, Brazil, and Taipei, Taiwan on July 30th.

The amount of talent going to be at these events is unbelievable. Great judges, DJs, hosts and of course dope B-Boys will meet to determine which 5 battle cats will move on to the finals in Russia on November 27.

About half of the Red Bull BC One Cyphers of this year are over! We had some really exiting events with lots of talent! Thank you all for joining us on location or on the web. The winners of the Cyphers will go to the 5 Qualifiers and the winners of the Qualifiers will go to the final in Russia in November.
