Florence, March 11, 2012, at the Space Club in the heart of Florence, Italy’s top 16 B-Boys battled it out for a place in the world final of the Red Bull BC One, the most prestigious title in one-on-one breaking, and the winner was B-Boy Froz.Under the spotlight and in front of hundreds of Hip Hop and street culture fans, B-Boy Froz from Bandits Crew saw off the other B-Boys, battle after battle through to the final against Paco: three rounds buzzing with energy to convince the jury that he was the one who deserved to win the Red Bull BC One Cypher title, showing off his superb talent, big personality, original style, awesome energy and great power moves. The Cypher jury in Florence, despite being made up of top B-Boys with great experience (Ronnie, from the USA, winner of the 2007 edition of Red Bull BC One 2007 in South Africa and a member of the Red Bull BC One All Stars; Lamine from Paris and B-Boy Storm from Berlin), had no easy task during the evening. B-Boy Marco, the Italian winner of the 2011 edition of Cypher, was beaten by Cima in the first round, and thus handed the title over to Froz. Immediately after his victory, the winner said, “There is no victory without struggle! Now I have to train and I have to start a tough preparation to face the Red Bull BC One Qualifier in Holland”The commentator for the evening was Tromba (Team Street Fighters), while DJ Tommy Toome was at the decks setting the rhythm for the battles. Froz will be back in action on September 22nd in Holland, where he’ll attempt to make it through the Regional Qualifier to book his ticket for the World Final in Brazil.

Froz vola in Olanda
Froz  trionfa allo Space Club di Firenze e continua il suo viaggio verso la finale mondiale

Firenze, 11 marzo
Ieri sera allo Space Club, locale nel cuore di Firenze, i 16 migliori b-boy italiani si sono sfidati per conquistare un posto nella finale mondiale del Red Bull BC One, il più ambito contest di breakdance One-on-One a livello internazionale, e b-boy Froz  ne è uscito vincitore.

Sotto i riflettori e gli occhi di centinaia di appassionati di hip hop e street culture, Froz della  Bandits crew ha sbaragliato gli altri b-boy battle dopo battle fino alla sfida finale contro Paco. Tre round carichi di energia per convincere la giuria che era lui a meritare la vittoria del Red Bull BC One Cypher, il suo talento è stato visibile soprattutto per la grande personalità, originalità e forza fino all’ultima move. 

La giuria del Cypher fiorentino, seppur formata da b-boy stellari con grande esperienza - Ronnie (USA) vincitore dell’edizione del Red Bull BC One 2007 in South Africa e membro del Red Bull BC All Star Team, il parigino Lamine e b-boy Storm da Berlino - è stata messa davvero in difficoltà durante la serata. B-boy Marco, vincitore italiano dell’edizione 2011 del Cypher è uscito dopo la sfida contro Cima e ha così passato lo scettro a Froz, il b-boy d’origine russa, milanese d’adozione. Il vincitore ha dichiarato subito dopo la vittoria: “senza lotta non c’è vittoria! Ora mi aspettano tanti allenamenti e una grande preparazione per affrontare il Red Bull Qualifier in Olanda”.
A scandire le battle della serata la voce di Tromba (Team Street Fighters), mentre in consolle il controllo è stato per tutta la sera di Dj Tommy Toome.

L’appuntamento per Froz e per tutti gli amanti del b-boying è per il prossimo 22 settembre in Olanda, dove il nuovo rappresentante della breakdance italiana cercherà durante le Qualifiche Regionali di guadagnare il biglietto finale per accedere alla Finali Mondiali in Brasile.

Il format del duello “uno contro uno” ha avuto inizio con la prima edizione del Red Bull BC One nel 2004, in Svizzera, e  consente ai breaker di far conoscere le proprie abilità, dando particolare risalto al loro stile e carisma.
Il B-Boying si riferisce al ballo, alle mosse e allo stile di vita che ha avuto origine nel quartiere del Bronx di New York, nella seconda metà degli anni Settanta. Accanto al DJing, al MCing e all’arte dei Graffiti, la breakdance è da sempre un elemento centrale della cultura Hip Hop.
