Red Bull BC One Cypher São Paulo: B-boy Luan, from Bauru, is the winner

Second Brazilian Cypher was at Teatro Mars in São Paulo. Luan Carlos dos Santos, aka B-boy Luan, next stop will be the Latin American Qualifier in Monterrey, Mexico

Luan Carlos dos Santos, aka B-Boy Luan, from Funk Fockers crew, was the winner of Red Bull BC One Cypher São Paulo those took place at Teatro Mars this Saturday (May 26). Luan was the best among the 16 B-boys who battled for the chance to be in the Latin American Qualifier by the end of August in Monterrey, Mexico. After Mexico, the next stop of 2012 season of Red Bull BC One in the region will be the World Final in Rio de Janeiro, Brazil, on December. 

Luan started on B-boying at age 12, influenced by his closer friends; today was his first participation in a Red Bull BC One Cypher. “My expectations for Mexico qualifier is to learn a lot there and, also, represent well my crew”, said Luan, 21 years old, about his goal. 

Besides the battles as one of the competitors, Luan also participates in events as judge and also in workshops dedicated to the B-boying scene. “I survive through the B-boying”, tells about how hard to deal with this choice can be in Brazil. 

Nationally, Brazil had two country cyphers this season. Before São Paulo, Brasília was the place for the first one on May 18. There, the winner was B-boy Xandin – Alexandre Duarte -, 21 years old (Over Kingz crew from Anápolis – Goiás). 

In total, the Latin American qualifier will have three Brazilian B-boys among the 16 participants. It will be the winners Xandin and Luan, from the national cyphers in Brasília and São Paulo respectively, and B-boy Klesio (New Old School crew, from Brasília); the third name defined by the judges among all the others participants from both Brazilian cyphers.  

The Red Bull BC One All Star Ronnie was part of the judge team in Brazilian cyphers. “The competitors from São Paulo cypher presented a very original style and, regarding to the fundaments, a great footwork”, said him about the B-boys who battled at Teatro Mars.

Red Bull BC One Cypher São Paulo: B-boy Luan, de Bauru, é o vencedor da eliminatória nacional realizada na capital paulista 

Segunda eliminatória do Red Bull BC One 2012 no Brasil foi no Teatro Mars. Vencedor é de Bauru e representará o país na qualificatória latino-americana em Monterrey no México. Final mundial da temporada será no Rio de Janeiro em dezembro.

Luan Carlos dos Santos, de 21 anos, foi o vencedor da eliminatória nacional do Red Bull BC One realizada neste sábado, dia 26, no Teatro Mars em São Paulo, capital. Natural de Bauru, o B-boy Luan, da crew Funk Fockers, foi o melhor entre os 16 competidores que disputaram uma vaga para a etapa latino-americana do Mundial que será no final de agosto, na cidade de Monterrey, México.

 

Um dos mais importantes campeonatos de Breaking em disputas homem-a-homem do mundo, o Red Bull BC One é realizado anualmente desde 2004. Neste ano, o Brasil será palco da grande final internacional da temporada, marcada para dezembro no Rio de Janeiro. 

Luan começou a dançar aos 12 anos de idade, por influência dos amigos e esta foi a sua primeira participação em uma das eliminatórias do Red Bull BC One. “Para o México, a minha expectativa é a de aprender muito lá e representar bem a minha crew”, resumiu Luan sobre sua conquista. 

O Brasil teve duas eliminatórias nacionais da competição neste temporada. Antes de São Paulo, Brasília foi palco da primeira delas no último dia 18. Lá, o vencedor foi o B-boy Xandin – Alexandre Duarte -, de 21 anos, da crew Over Kingz, de Anápolis/ GO. 

No total, a qualifier no México terá três brasileiros. Além dos vencedores Xandin e Luan, respectivamente campeões das eliminatórias nacionais em Brasília e São Paulo, o B-boy Klesio, da crew New Old School, de Brasília, foi escolhido pelos jurados entre os demais B-boys que participaram de ambas as disputas.

Um dos jurados das eliminatórias, o B-boy norte-americano Ronnie (Red Bull BC One All Star) destacou o estilo dos B-boys que competiram na eliminatória nacional em São Paulo. “Os competidores desta eliminatória apresentaram um estilo muito original e, dos fundamentos, destaco o ótimo footwork”, resumiu.
