Korean B-Boy is THE ONE!##

B-Boy Wing Triumphs at Red Bull BC One in Paris

B-Boy Wing from Korea prevailed over 15 competitors to win the 2008 Red Bull BC One championships. Battling the best B-Boys from around the world in the new cultural center of Paris, the 104, Wing used a combination of stylishly acrobatics and dazzling moves to defeat the crowd’s favorite, Taisuke from Japan. Ronnie, the 2007 champion from the US, failed to meet expectations when he was defeated by the newcomer Kolobok from the Ukraine in the second round.

Wing quickly wooed the audience with his lightening style and surprising combinations. In the first round, he defeated South African B-Boy Benny, in the quarter finals French B-Boy Mounir with 4 votes against 1. Then in the hotly contested semi-finals, Wing showed the Ukrainian B-Boy Kolobok that he still had moves up his sleeve by throwing some complex combinations on the musical beats of DJ Tee.

US Judge Ivan declared, “Throughout the whole competition, Wing showed a variety of creative moves while following the beat and keeping the battle interesting. Wing has a proud attitude in his battles.“

According to judge Lilou, the 2005 champion from France, “You could see the determination in Wing’s eyes.“ He continued, “Being a judge at the event and sitting on the sidelines triggers great motivation to participate in next year’s Red Bull BC One and become the first judge ever to come back win. I am not ready to retire yet!“

The 104 was packed with members of the crews supporting their heroes, and the live feed was followed by tens of thousands of fans who could not get hold of a ticket (tickets sold out 3 hours after they were available on the website.)

The sixteen best B-Boys of the world were battling each other like gladiators in the arena judged by an international jury of B-Boys with a long list of titles. Storm, European Hip Hop legend, Extremo, Spanish breakdance pioneer, Ivan, energetic entertainer from the US, Hong10, the 2006 world champion and local judge Lilou, winner of Red Bull BC One 2005.

Over the last five years, the Red Bull BC One has a huge fan base in the international B-Boy community and the event is always awaited with much anticipation. B-Boys from all over the world are glued to their computers each year to receive the news first hand who will be “The One” to hold the title for the coming year.

Wing exults: „Winning Red Bull BC One is just the beginning. Now, my goal is to become the first B-Boy in the world to win this event twice. I am just warming up for next years event!“

baek has such ugly toprocks and footwork and he crashed alot, no way was he better than pelezhino, Pele killed baek in every area. Anyway this 2008 was probably the worst. Kid David should have beaten lil Ceng, Benny should have beaten Wing, Taisuke and Wing in the finals is just wtf? Kolobok definately deserved to be there,
