**Profile**
Roflow was 14-years-old when he started B-Boying. He started dancing with friends from his block at a park near his house. They would pull the light from a post so that they could watch rap videos, which for that time, were their only inspiration. What Roni Flores (Roflow) didn’t know was that those long lasting evenings and repeated VHS videos would take him to represent not only “LifeStyleCrew”, but also his country in Red Bull BC One Latin American Qualifier 2012 in México.
RoFlow has always had a clear vision: B-Boying is his style of life. Therefore, when he finished school, he decided that B-Boying would also be his profession.
He has participated and won many tittles in different competitions, two of them international. The competition that marked him the most was the one at Queens (2012), a qualifier for Red Bull BC ONE Cypher Boston.
At his first Red Bull BC One, even though Roni didn’t manage to get the tittle, he got the experience he was looking for. “I went to United States for a dance festival as a choreographer for a dance collage. Once I was there, I decided to stay so that I could be more in touch with the B-Boy culture. For me, the fact that I could see and learn different styles and compete with well-known B-Boys, was great! Passing the 1st round was already omething big for me…”
The name RoFlow was born in a competition in Texas in the year 2010. His friend and also organizer of the event nicknamed him this way. “Ro” because of Roni and “Raw” because it reminds people about a strong sound, like a lion’s. On the second part, “flow” because of the style that Roni has when he dances and also because his last name is Flores, which in Spanish means flower.
When RoFlow started dancing, his parents disagreed. But once they understood his passion and talent, they became his number one fans. “When I started to gain money, I proved to them that through my talent I could do things. Now my mother is extremely proud of me and with what I do. On the other hand, my dad passed away, but he is still with me every day with his blessings. Both of them are the engines of my life.”
